This part of the front fender could not be saved, as rust and fatigue had taken it's toll. The bondo is used to smooth the rough areas so a pattern can be made.

This is the pattern. The lines are marked for reference points.
Contour gages are made to correspond with each line drawn on the shape pattern.

It's unnoticeable by this picture, but there are areas where daylight is visible through pinholes, making it necessary to replace a large amount of metal.
More rust damage.
There is rust damage in this area too, as well as a tear having been brazed along the wheel opening.
The new repair panels are trial fit.
Another trial fit to make sure the arch flows properly.
Welding begins. The panel is securely fastened. It will be butt welded and metal finished.
